Madison Public Library of Madison, South Dakota hosted a presentation on air pollution control facilitated by Shyamal. He told the American audience that deep scientific justifications to most of the rituals and incantations given in the Vedas. While we are struggling to attain new ways of tackling the effects of global climate change, the answers might lie in the ancient spiritual texts. Energy transmission in the cosmos is through waves. Solar energy reaches us through the solar waves. Rhythmic Chanting of Vedic Slokas in sanskrit as well as universal sound of the auspicious Conch Shell, Bell, Drum etc. create waves of different patterns so as to intercept the bad effects / waves in the incoming solar waves blocking their damaging effects, while allowing the good effects of the solar / cosmic waves to reach the earth surface.

British Council observed Earth Day through a series of events on 21-22 April 2012 at Birla Industrial & Technological Museum. The Earth Day celebrations was organised and managed by International Climate Champions in association with Earth Day Network, BITM and British Council.
The event featured an interactive discussion with Shyamal Ghosh on "The Power of Nature -- Can we restore Cosmic Harmony". The development of our planet began some 4.6 billion years ago, and the Earth has gone through staggering geological changes since that time. Simultaneously, the ways in which man has used and treated the Earth has also undergone drastic changes. Our heritage and traditions inculcated values and respect for nature in our minds but over time, we have lost the way- resorting instead to destroying our habitat in order to lead an increasingly lavish and technology dependant life.
Unsolicited feedback from Radhika Singh, Project Manager, British Council Division, British High Commission: "The interaction was dynamic and interesting and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it."
